Gaming revenue in Pennsylvania reached $448.4 million in September.
Pennsylvania’s combined revenue from regulated games and fantasy contests reached $448.4 million in September. This is a 7.9% increase compared to September 2021.
Game revenue sources regulated by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board include slot machines, board games, Internet games, sports betting, fantasy contests and video game terminals (VGT). Retail gaming revenue decreased by 0.18% year-on-year to 198.5 million dollars. Retail board game revenue decreased by 2.9% to 81 million dollars.
Penn National’s Hollywood Casino led Pennsylvania’s land-based casino revenue with $65.9 million, up 18% from September 2021. Parx Casino in Philadelphia generated $55 million, a year-over-year decrease of 2.6%. Valley Forge Casino Resort rounded out the top three with $55.6 million, up 27.7%. Online gaming revenue increased by 15.2% to 112.7 million dollars. Penn National’s Hollywood Casino led the way with $48.6 million, ahead of Rivers Casino Philadelphia at $26.1 million and Valley Forge Casino Resort at $19.5 million.
The fiscal revenue generated by online games in August was 47.6 million dollars. The amount of sports bets was 645.2 million dollars, 11.5% more than the 578.7 million dollars in September 2021. The taxable income was 50.2 million dollars compared to $ 28.2 million in September 2021, with an increase of 77.7%. Valley Forge, along with partner FanDuel, has maintained first place in sports betting with $22.7 million in revenue out of $212.9 million in bets.
The Hollywood Casino at the Meadows’ Barstool Sportsbook placed second with $11.2 million in revenue on a threshold of $207.5 million. The handle at the Hollywood Casino Morgantown was $51.5 million, while the Hollywood Casino at Penn National and DraftKings reported $41 million in betting.
