Legends Bay Casino in Northern Nevada is set to open on August 30th. It will be the first new casino to open in the Reno-Sparks area in over 20 years. The $120 million property will have 650 slot and video poker machines, 10 live table games, and five blackjack tables.

Olympia Gaming announced last Wednesday that the Legends Bay Casino in Northern Nevada will officially open its doors to the public at 8 pm on August 30.

Said Garry Goett, Chairman and CEO of Olympia Gaming:

“It’s an honor and a privilege for us to open the first new casino in Northern Nevada in a very long time. We have been working tirelessly to bring this project to life for many years, and we are very excited to share it with the community. From our one-of-a-kind restaurants to the very first Circa Sports Sportsbook, we have designed Legends Bay Casino to offer the best in class in gaming, dining, and sports,”

Located at The Outlets at Legends, the 80,000-square-foot casino will be the first new gambling property in the Sparks-Reno area in more than 20 years. The opening will run through September 2 and will be accompanied by a free fireworks show.

The opening is a long time coming as the casino was first envisioned 15 years ago and was halted by the Great Recession. During that period, Olympia Gaming developed two non-gaming hotels in the Hampton Inn and Residence Inn. But the company never wavered on its casino plans.

According to projections, the $120 million casino is expected to bring an estimated 12 million visitors per year to the area. That figure does not include visitors to Olympia’s Fandango Casino in Carson which is also expected to help Legends Bay’s customer count.

The Legends Bay Casino features an expansive gaming space and will have its own loyalty program dubbed LB Rewards. It will carry the latest slot machines and video poker games, live table games, and live keno. The property will also have a high-limit room and the region’s only Circa Sports Sportsbook.

The casino’s gaming floor is set to carry 650 slot and video poker machines, 10 live table games, five blackjack tables, craps, roulette, three card poker, Pai Gow poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and Live Keno. The casino will also have three dining options: Duke Steakhouse, LB Grill, and Food Truck Hall.

The LB Rewards program will offer free membership and entitles all players to redeem their points to play free games and to receive free Flash Play games on their machine. Points are earned based on the amount wagered and there is no need to search for a kiosk to opt-in and participate in promos or multipliers because as soon as the card is inserted, the player immediately becomes eligible.
